We’re beginning in Genesis, the book of beginnings, where we see creation, humanity’s origin, the fall, and God’s plan to restore what was broken. In Genesis 2, we’re reminded that work was given before sin entered the world. It’s not a curse, but a blessing—part of God’s good design—meant to bring purpose, stewardship, and even joy.
Genesis 2 also reveals God’s intentional design for marriage. From the beginning, He created male and female equal in value, distinct in role, and united in mission. Marriage is God’s idea: one man and one woman leaving, cleaving, and becoming one flesh—fully united in life and purpose. When God is at the center, that covenant reflects His design and leads to true unity and joy.
